Tag-lines and slogans

Every day we are bombarded with slogans and tag-lines from hundreds of companies. The aim of the advertising companies is not only to make us buy the product or use the services, but also to remember the slogan. In this way, even if we aren't going to use their services immediately, they are building a bank of trust in our sub-conscience.

As we walk into a store we are drawn to certain products, this is possibly due to their advertising. It is this sub-conscience lure that brings their product into our hands and into our homes.

What makes a good advertising slogan? Is it merely something that will be remembered or is it something more? Companies spend enormous amounts of money on researching their target market and with advertising agencies to create tag lines and slogans that are memorable.
