The traditional fishing boats are called Jangadas. Everyday they haul their catches out and sell to the public and to dealers from Fortaleza.

The surfing season here on the Northern coast of Brazil is from January - April. Competitions are held with competitors from around the world.

The tourist season here is July to December. This is for the international tourists who are usually here to kitesurf. The Brazilians love going to the beach and flock here every weekend year round.

A very well situated 10 room Pousada & Restaurant on the main Street of Taiba only five minutes walk from the beach. Consisting 4 chalets with very big shower rooms and private terraces. 2 x 2 story self catering chalets with a single and a double room. Both rooms are en-suite with ground floor kitchen and lounge area over looking the pool. 4 x rooms with access from gardens all en-suite. The accomadation units surround the gardens and central pool and deck. The restaurant is new and has street access which attracts passing trade. The whole property is in good condition with plenty of room to add more accomadation chalets. The property is only for sale due to the present Norwegian owners failing health. There is a large plot of land behind the property which will be sold separately or, can be purchased with the pousada.

Recently we have seen a trend here amongst foreigners and Brazilians of families buying hotels, as vacation getaways. They aren't running it as a hotel, they have changed it into a family 'condo'. Each family has their own room and then they share the BBQ , pool and eating area.

Another recent sale of a local hotel is now being used solely as a conference center for this gentleman's current business.

Although they are bought as a business, the price is equivalent or sometimes less than a home would be. The pousadas are normally in an enviable location as well, usually near the beach.
